Relationship between per capita consumption and disposable income in regions of the P. R. C.
Li, Ran
This thesis provides a quantitative analysis of the relationship between per capita consumption and per capita disposable income for 31 regions and the whole coun- try of China from 2013 to 2021. Panel data analysis based on the LSDV model and time series data analysis based on the dynamic model were conducted. The results show that Chinese residents' income and consumption levels are generally low, with a decreasing trend from the Eastern to the Central and Western Economic Belts, and significant variations within each Economic Belt. Moreover, Chinese consumers exhibit a low willingness to consume, and the principle of diminishing propensity to consume does not fully apply to them during this period. Chinese citizens' consump- tion has a ratchet effect, where previous period consumption significantly affects current period consumption. Finally, suggestions are provided to the government to promote consumption and reduce the regional consumption gap.
Helicopter Money and the Propensity to Consume Transfers: The Case of Czech Republic

Jakub Doležal1 1 ) Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University 50735965@fsv.cuni.cz The thesis discusses the topic of helicopter money - unconventional mon- etary policy aimed at increasing sub-target inflation and reviving GDP growth when the orthodox monetary policy is constrained by the zero lower bound (ZLB) on policy rates. From the perspective of the households, helicopter money transfer is a windfall gain. Part of the transfer - marginal propensity to con- sume (MPC) - is within weeks turned into consumption. MPC directly affects the outcomes of the policy, it is therefore advisable to predict it. The first part of the thesis describes unconventional monetary with special emphasis on helicopter money, quantitative easing and debt monetization. The second part is then devoted to identifying country-level drivers of MPC and subsequently predicting average MPC across Czech households using meta-analytic approach. While controlling for publication bias and performing variables selection through Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (lasso) the model predicts av- erage marginal propensity to consume the transfer ranging from 0.46 to 0.51 during the years of sub-target inflation and under ZLB on policy rates within the Czech economy.

The present thesis analyzes the economic and political measures of United States President Ronald Reagan and their impact on income inequality. Moving away from Keynesian interventionist government action meant a return to the traditional, modernized, neoclassical economics in the foreground with the school supply side. Changing fiscal policy, deregulation, globalization, and the consequences of a change in the factors of demand for labor is the cause of greater poverty for children, African-American and Hispanic households. Using traditional methods of measuring the level of income inequalities prove that the popular Reagan's economic policies have had a positive impact on high-income people, and people with a university degree.
Consumer Behaviour
Babáková, Andrea ; Bartošová, Jitka (advisor) ; Bína, Vladislav (referee)
The thesis focuses on investigating and searching for differences between consumer behavior of Czech and Slovak households depending on chosen socioeconomic factors. For the purpose of this thesis source materials are taken mainly from researches realized by Czech and Slovak Statistical Office, specifically from survey sampling Household Budget Study 2009. Data are analyzed through the use of comprehensive characteristics of location, variability and box diagrams. Generalized linear models are used for modeling dependence of consumer behavior on chosen quantitative and qualitative factors. Household consumer behavior is expressed through economic index - propensity to consume - which is determined by the share of total monthly income and expenditures.
